As a school that serves a diverse community in central London, we are committed to supporting and promoting equality, diversity and inclusion, and ensuring these principles are embedded in everything we do. We want the children in our care to be given every opportunity to develop to their full potential and maximise their chances of success in all areas of life.
A number of whole-school initiatives convey positive messages about equality, inclusion and diversity, and promote community cohesion. Festivals such as Chinese New Year, Diwali and Eid are genuine celebrations of our multi-faith, multi-cultural intake. Themed topics such as ‘Black History Week’ are embedded into an inclusive curriculum – not tokenistic gestures of support.
From our intake to our infrastructure, equality of opportunity is at the heart of everything we do. The achievements of Black, Asian and ethnic minorities are celebrated throughout the year. To promote a cross-curricular sense of inclusivity, we strive to ensure that our curriculum reflects the diversity of race, gender and sexuality seen in contemporary Britain.
Working in partnership with families, we strive to meet the diverse needs of children who experience barriers to learning by providing outstanding support within the school and accessing, where necessary, a range of external agencies. As a school, we are committed to ensuring that every child in our care can thrive, irrespective of difference.
