‘Kinder’ children are charged a daily amount for school meals when they turn three, unless they are entitled to ‘Free School Meals’ (FSM). To find out if your child is eligible for ‘Free School Meals’ (FSM), click here. Every eligible child must apply, no one automatically qualifies.

If you are not entitled to Free School Meals the additional cost for lunch will be £2.50 per day on top of band 1 or band 2.

Many families who are not entitled to the full 30 hours of government funding want the child to stay for an additional lunch hour 12:30-13:30 only. In order to encourage as many children to benefit from a balanced healthy meal, this additional hour is charged at a preferential rate of £5 per day (£2.50 for lunch + £2.50 towards nursery costs).

If a child is absent, they will not be charged for meals. It is the parents’ / carers’ responsibility to subtract £2.50 for every day that their child is absent before making payments. We kindly request that a weekly or monthly standing order is set up, using your child’s name as reference, to ensure regular payment.
